Care in Captivity
Pet Suitability:
Intelligent and active. Becomes fairly accustomed to keeper, though shy initially. Can still be susceptible to illness, particularly respiratory infections, once acclimatized. Strict hygiene is required due to mainly liquid diet.

Housing:
3 x 1 x 2m (9.8 x 3.3 x 6.5 ft) aviary with well drained tiled or concrete floor.

Enrichment:
Provide swings, ropes, ladders and lots of perches; foraging/puzzle toys, noise makers. Provide overhead misters or shallow bowls of water for frequent bathing.

Nest Box Size:
Vertical box 8" x 8" x 12" (20.3cm x 20.3cm x 30.5cm).
