Care in Captivity
Pet Suitability:
Quiet and shy; initially easily startled. New birds susceptible to stress and disease. Keep new birds in smaller cages initially to ensure safety. May house in communal aviaries only with finch species.

Enclosure or aviary, indoors or outdoors in warm climates, minimum length 1.2m (4 ft).

Enrichment:
Provide bird-safe, unsprayed flowering, fir, pine, willow, elder or saskatoon branches and various sized perches. Provide wooden block or vegetable tanned leather toys, foraging/puzzle toys, push and pull toys, noise makers, ladders, swings and ropes.
