Care in Captivity
Pet Suitability:
Probably similar to Painted Conure: active, inquisitive and moderate in voice unless excited; new birds shy and nervous, may remain reserved. Susceptible to disease and stress during acclimatisation period. May be housed in colony in large, planted aviary.

Captive Status:
Not found in captivity.

Longevity:
Probably about 12-15yrs.

Housing:
Aviary or suspended enclosure minimum length 2m (6.5 ft).

Enrichment:
As in Painted Conure: probably a vigorous chewer, so provide bird-safe, unsprayed flowering, fir, pine, elder or willow branches; also wooden block or vegetable tanned leather toys. Provide overhead misters or shallow water bowls for bathing.

Nest Box Size:
Vertical box 20cm x 20cm x 70cm (8 x 8 x 28 in).

Clutch Size:
4-5

Incubation Time:
Probably 23 days.

Fledging Age:
Probably 40-51 days.
