Care in Captivity
Pet Suitability: Extroverted, social, comical, high-energy, needs lots of toys and space; some learn to talk a little.
Captive Status: Uncommon
Longevity: 25-40 yrs
Housing: Aviary or suspended cage, minimum length 2m (6.5 ft).
Enrichment: Foot toys, bird safe chewable branches of pine, fir, elder or willow, sterilized pine cones, hanging toys, ladders, vegetable tanned leather knotted toys, puzzle toys, bathing, socialization.
Nest Box Size: Vertical box 12" x 12" x 18" (30.5cm x 30.5cm x 46cm).
Clutch Size: 2 to 4
Incubation Time: Around 25 days
Fledging Age: 10 weeks
Hatch Weight: 7g (0.2 oz)
Peak Weight: 150-180g (5.25-6.3 oz)
Weaning Weight: 150-165g (5.25-5.8 oz)
