Also Known As: Mealy Parrot, Plain-colored Amazon (A.f. inornata), Blue-crowned or Guatemalan Amazon (A.f. guatemalae), Costa Rican or Green-headed Amazon (A.f. virenticeps)
The Mealy Amazon has been heavily traded: since 1981, 49,600 individuals have been recorded in international market. The name Mealy comes from the bird's peculiar colouration, giving it a "dusty" or "powdered" appearance.
