Colourization Adult: Male-green plumage, with feathers strongly edged dusty black; white forehead and forecrown; yellow lores; area around eyes to upper cheeks red; ear coverts black; primary coverts red; tail green with red at base. Bill dull yellow. Eye ring pale grey. Eye yellow/brown. Female-soft blue forehead and forecrown; faint red underneath eye to upper cheeks; ear coverts dark grey; green primary coverts intermixed with red.

Colourization Juvenile: As in adult female but with yellow lores scattered with green; upper cheeks green with sprinkling of red. Eye grey.

Call: Calls loud and varied. Include squealing, barking, harsh crack, crack notes, loud trilling notes, short sharp sounds and trumpeting notes.
