Range: Restricted to SW Australia, inland.

Habitat:
Woodland of salmon gum and wandoo trees.

Deforestation for agriculture, fragmentation of habitat, wild bird trade, competition with introduced domestic animals.

IUCN Rating:
Endangered

Wild Diet:
Seeds from Proteaceae spp., Hakea, Dryandra, Grevillea; pine nuts.

CITES Rating:
Appendix II

Ecology:
Pairs form permanent bonds, large flocks form outside breeding season; sometimes seen with Red-tailed Black Cockatoos.

Clutch and Egg Size:
1 to 2, ovate eggs, 50 x 35mm (2 x 1.3 in)

Breeding Season:
August-December.
