Deville's Conure has previously been classified as a subspecies of the Painted Conure (P. picta).

Status in the Wild
World Population:
Not recorded

Range: Reported only from Tefe district and the Rio Purus, Amazonas, N Brazil.

Habitat:
Found up to 800m (2624 ft) in terra firme and varzea forests, including forest margins and nearby clearings with tall trees.

Wild Diet:
Probably similar to that of Painted Conure (P. picta): feeds on a wide variety of fruits, flowers, seeds and possibly algae.

Ecology:
Probably similar to that of Painted Conure (P. picta): resident; possibly nests in tree hollow. Seen in pairs, groups of three or flocks of up to 20 individuals.

Clutch and Egg Size:
Probably 5-7 elliptical eggs, 26.5 x 19.0mm (1 x 0.7 in).
