The incubation period for the eggs of the Hispaniolan Amazon is 27-29 days, longer than most parrots.

Status in the Wild
World Population: 10,000-20,000
Range: Hispaniola (Haiti and Dominican Republic), including Grande Cayemite, Gonave, Saona and Beata Islands, Greater Antilles, West Indies.
Habitat: Found up to 1500m (4920 ft) in various habitats including from arid lowland palm savannas to upland pine forest and humid mountain forest.
Threat Summary: This species is threatened by clearance of habitat for agriculture, charcoal production, persecution and hunting, and trapping for the wild bird trade.
IUCN Rating: Vulnerable
Wild Diet: Feeds on seeds, fruits, citrus, maize and bananas.
CITES Rating: Appendix II
Ecology: Seen in pairs while breeding, at other times in small groups of up to a dozen birds. Within the flock pairs and families are clearly identified from the rest of the group. Extremely territorial when breeding.
Clutch and Egg Size: 3-4 eggs, 35.5 x 27.5mm (1.4 x 1.1 in).
