In the wild the Yellow-lored Amazon looks more streamlined in its body shape than other amazons do, suggesting it spends more time on the wing.

Status in the Wild
World Population: Not recorded
Range: Found in Yucatan Peninsula and lsla Cozumel, SE Mexico, and N Belize.
Habitat: Found mainly below 300m (984 ft) in more open, drier deciduous scrub forest and Pinus woodland; has overlap with White-fronted Amazon.
Threat Summary: None apparent so far.
IUCN Rating: Least concern
Wild Diet: Eats pods of Acacia sp., maize and citrus fruits.
CITES Rating: Appendix II
Ecology: Found in flocks, in groups of up to 1500 birds. Mostly feed in tree tops.
Clutch and Egg Size: 4 or 5
Breeding Season: March, Yucatan Peninsula; April-May, Belize.
