What should I do if I see objectionable material on the forums?
Due to real-time nature of these forums, the moderators cannot always monitor the contents of posted messages. We depend upon you to inform them when members are violating our rules. You must also recognize that they cannot respond immediately to such notices and that some time may pass before any warranted action is taken.
What happens if I break the rules?
At best your post will be edited by one of the moderators and you will be issued a warning. If the offense is more serious your post will be deleted. Posting “Why was my post edited/deleted?” etc. will only make matters worse so please don’t. Should you have already been issued warnings and continue to break the rules, you will be issued a temporary ban - your posting privileges will be disabled for seven days, but you will still be able to view the forums as a guest.
For persistent and or deliberate rule-breakers your account will be permanently banned. That means you are no longer welcome on these forums and your account will no longer function. If you re-register, your new account will be removed immediately and any new threads/posts will automatically be removed, regardless of their nature.
How do I reply to a forum?
To reply to a forum you must be a registered member and logged into the service. To post a reply, select the forum by clicking on the Forum ‘Title’ and then on the ‘Topic’ title. In the new box that opens, click on ‘Post reply’ in the top right hand corner. In the new page fill in your text in the Message box and check ‘Preview Post’ to review your post and ‘Submit Post’ to post your reply.
Can I take back my response?
Yes, you can take back your response by selecting the ‘Delete’ in the same field as your post. You will receive a warning notification to confirm you wish to delete the post. You must click ‘Delete’ again to remove your post.
Can I edit a message that has already been posted?
Yes, so long as you created the message. You can edit your posts by selecting the ‘Edit’ in the same field as your post. In the new page, fill in your text in the Message box and chick Preview Post’ to review your post and ‘Submit Post’ to post your reply.
Can I post to more than one forum at once?
No, you must post to each topic separately.
How do I know my post went through?
If your post has been successfully updated your page will be refreshed and you should be able to view the information on the page.
How can I expand all the forums?
You can do so by clicking in the ‘+’ button on the right side of the page located in the forum title bar.
How do I create a new topic?
Select the forum where you would like to create the new topic and click on the ‘New Topic’ button in the top right corner. You will need to provide a title and then the content of your topic. When completed, click on ‘Preview Post’ to review your post and ‘Submit Post’ to post your reply.
How can I collapse all the Forums?
You can do so by clicking in the ‘-’ button on the right side of the page located in the forum title bar.
How do I know if someone replied to my post?
If you have set up your account to receive notification, you will receive an email to notify you that someone as has replied to your post. If you have disabled this notification you will need to check back periodically.
Are the forums moderated?
Yes, the forums are moderated by volunteers for the Trust.
One of the participants in this forum is very rude. Can they be kicked out?
Yes, that may happen in exceptional circumstances. If you have an issue with a participant, please report it to the moderator. If you do not feel that the moderator has appropriately addressed your concerns please send an email to and Trust staff will review your concerns and let you know of their decisions if they deem it necessary.
I have written a long message and cannot enter more text. Is there a limit to the length of my message?
Yes, each message is limited to 99000 characters. When you create a message, look for the ‘Characters’ box below the ‘Message’ box to see how many characters you have remaining.
Can I add HTML content to my posting?
Yes, you can do this in a ‘guided’ or ‘normal’ method. When entering the information in the ‘normal’ setting, highlight the work that you wish to edit and select the HTML code buttons at the top of the page to bold, italicize, underline, etc. your submission. The HTML code buttons will correctly format the encapsulated text.
If you choose the guided method of entering HTML content, a new box will pop up on you screen to request the text you wish to code when you click on the HTML code buttons. Simply enter the text into the field and the text will be automatically coded for you.
I tried to reply to a posting and I got sent to a log in page. What do I do?
This means that you are not logged into the forum. If you have pre-registered, simply enter your User ID and Password at the top of the page. If you have not, please click the ?Register’ link and complete the registration form.
