i am a WPT member in melbouren australia, i would love to help out hands on in someway , no matter how small - all the conservation projects listed in the magazine always seem to be on the other side of the world! does nayone know of any projects or how to get involved in Australia? thanks

You might try contacting Healsville Sanctuary and see if they are doing any parrot related work, or Birds Australia (based in Melbourne).  They may be able to suggest researchers working on parrots.

I believe that the WPT has quite rightly decided that Australia should be able to look after it’s own parrots where needed, and that funds are better served by going to third world projects where the problems are greater and the local funding is missing.
