I’ve been doing research for next year’s trip to Loro Parque and found out that it is pretty easy and cheap to stop over a few days in the Phillippines enroute from Australia. We will only have a few days arriving in Manila Thursday afternoon, then we need to get to the destination that evening. We would have to leave the destination by Monday morning to ensure we arrive in Tenerife on the day before the World Parrot Congress starts to get de-jetlagged and everything.
So we have 3 full days to devote to bird watching. I was looking at the main WPT site and most Phillippine parrots seem to be well-represented on the island of Mindinao and there are several flight options to get there.

So once we are on Mindinao, then what? How do we find the parrots? Are there any good guides there?
