Discover a marvelous adventure when you travel to Brazil to experience parrots in the wild with this special trip from the WPT. Organized by the experts at Tropical Nature Travel, this unique experience will take you to the Pantanal, one of the world’s largest wetlands in the world. This unique area boasts over 700 bird species (including Green-wing, Blue and Gold, Hyacinth and Golden-collared Macaws; Chevron-winged Parakeet; Scaly-headed Parrot; and the Blue-fronted Parrot) and an extraordinary variety of reptiles, fish and mammals.

On this special trip you will travel with WPT’s own Joanna Eckles and learn from expert local guides in each region we visit. You will encounter a unique ecosystem known as “The Hole of the Parrots” to watch and photograph dozens of species. You will spend 2 full days at the Pantanal Wildlife Center, deep in the Pantanal where you can take boat safaris on the rivers; see monkeys, many bird species, capybaras, caiman, and giant otters.

If you want to extend your time in Brazil, you can continue on with a local guide to Hyacinth Valley and Greenwing Lodge. This area features not only these spectacular large macaws but also the Tufted Capuchin Monkeys which are now famous for their use of heavy hammer rocks to crack hard palm nuts on much larger, sandstone anvils.
