Paradise Park
Paradise Park is a wildlife sanctuary in Cornwall, UK which is home to many species of parrots. It was opened in 1973 by Mike Reynolds, who went on to establish the World Parrot Trust in 1989.
Mike recognised that many of the parrot family were in danger of extinction, not only because of habitat loss which many species face, but also because parrots are beautiful, charismatic and have the ability to talk. This put them under the additional pressure of being captured in large numbers for the pet trade, and he was determined to do something to help.
All at the Park are committed to helping parrots whenever they can, and this includes giving much staff time, free office and shop space, and publicity initiatives. As well as expertise, raising funds for conservation projects is given high priority, and this is done in many ways including collecting boxes and at our shows. Between 1989 and 2006 a total of £159,450 was raised in cash donations alone.

Natural Encounters, Inc. is a US-based company on the cutting edge of animal training and presentation. The direction and goals of the company are to Engage, Inspire, and Empower its audience through the exhibition of animals performing trained natural behaviours, carefully designed dialogue, and tastefully choreographed presentation. In 1998 alone, Natural Encounters, Inc. engaged, inspired and empowered nearly one million people.
Steve Martin, founder and president of Natural Encounters Inc, has been a valued World Parrot Trust partner for years. As part of our Board of Trustees, Steve lends valuable leadership and direction for the future of the Trust. He and his staff have raised funds through their conservation fund (NECF) to support our dedicated funds for Palm Cockatoos and Red-fronted Macaws, to name just a few. They have provided care and housing for our flock of Blue-throated Macaws. This flock may eventually bolster the wild population in Bolivia if captive breeding and release is deemed advisable for this species.
In addition, Steve and his crew have been great advocates of the Trust by spreading the word about parrots and conservation during their free-flight bird shows around the world. NOAH Nature Alliance
NOAH is an impartial, unbiased, U.S.-based 501(c)(3) non-profit, umbrella organization committed to complementing and supporting worthy nature conservation initiatives like World Parrot Trust. Their mission is to open the window on worldwide wildlife conservation and related community betterment projects, large and small, international and local, established and emerging by increasing their exposure to an international community of concerned supporters.
The NOAH website features groups that address a clear and critical plight; that are engaged in hands-on, on-site conservation work; that are working to protect a key specie(s) or habitat crucial to preserving biodiversity; that have shown to be effective in their efforts; that have specifically identified goals for the future, and that work closely with the local community.

IAATE
The International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators (IAATE) is a professional organization representing avian trainers from a variety of organizations and facilities. Most of the members of IAATE are involved in environmental education and present trained birds in their programs.
IAATE has supported the World Parrot Trust for years by welcoming us at their annual conference. They have provided valuable funding for our African Grey Parrot, Blue-throated and Red-fronted Macaw projects, and our EU trade ban campaign through their conservation awards and grants. IAATE has been supporting this projects for 4 years now with over $5,000 in contributions. The organization has also been instrumental in bringing attention to the work of the Trust in general.iaate » -
Cotswold Wildlife Park
Home for a large variety of animal species Cotswold Wildlife Park is set in 160 acres of parkland and beautiful gardens around a listed Victorian Manor House and has been open to the public since 1970.
The Park includes a small collection of parrots including macaws, cockatoos, Eclectus Parrot, Duyvenbode's Lory, Derbyan Parakeet and Kea, wherever possible, the Park is keen to inform visitors of conservation issues and proved a perfect forum to raise awareness for the World Parrot Day in 2004. An area of the Park was set aside for the event with keepers on hand through the day talking to visitors, and along with flying displays and stands selling parrot paraphernalia the day proved very successful.

Minnesota Zoo
The mission of the Minnesota Zoo is to connect people, animals and the natural world. They are dedicated to inspiring people to act on behalf of the environment. To accomplish this, they provide award-winning recreational, educational and conservation programs, locally, nationally and internationally.

Drayton Manor Zoo
Drayton Manor is a family theme park with a mixture of scenic and white knuckle rides. It covers 280 acres of land, and is visited by over one million people annually. Drayton Manor was opened to the public in 1949 and has since grown substantially in size. It is the UK's leading family run theme park and the fourth most popular theme park in Britain in terms of visitor numbers.
Drayton Manor Zoo has been donating to and supporting the World Parrot Trust since 2002. They have a donation box dedicated to the Trust in the middle of their Parrot Walk. The Parrot Walk first opened in the year 2000 and since then it has proven very popular with visitors who have shown great generosity in supporting their fund raising efforts. Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium
The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is located in Tacoma, Washington, USA on 28 acres (113,000 m2) in Point Defiance Park. They are proud to participate in a number of wildlife conservation projects in the United States and around the globe. Most of these efforts are directly tied to the animals represented at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. With its Pacific Rim theme, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium concentrates on animals from countries bordering the Pacific Ocean.

The Palms Tropical Oasis at Stapeley Water Gardens
The Palms Tropical Oasis is a popular tourist attraction located in Nantwich, Cheshire, UK. The Oasis is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (E.A.Z.A.) and has worked with organisations like WWF, Care For The Wild, The World Parrot Trust, David Shepherd Conservation Foundation, Marine Conservation Society, Plant Life, Proteus Reptile Trust, 21st Century Tiger and The Orangutan Foundation.
The Palms Tropical Oasis have supported and fundraised for the World Parrot Trust since 1991. Curator/Education Officer Valda Fillery and dedicated keepers have worked tirelessly to ensure that the many tropical displays intrigue each and every visitor, with friendly interpretation encouraging them to find out more about tropical habitats. The National Aviary
The National Aviary is America's only independent indoor non-profit zoo dedicated exclusively to birds. Located in West Park on Pittsburgh's historic North Side, the National Aviary's diverse collection comprises 600 birds representing more than 200 species from around the world, many of them threatened or critically endangered in the wild. The National Aviary works to inspire respect for nature through an appreciation of birds.
The Animal Encounters staff at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh has been supporting our field research of Red-fronted Macaws since 2004. In fact, it was because of their initial donation that we were able to start a project on this Bolivian species at all. Not much is known about the breeding ecology and behavior of Red-fronts. When the show staff realized this they committed themselves to doing something about it. With several seasons of observations and ongoing work the information that has been collected is helping to define the challenges this species faces and some of the solutions that may indeed help in the future.national aviary »
