Wills and Bequests

Leaving a gift to the World Parrot Trust (WPT) in your estate is one of the most important contributions you can make. A bequest is a gift that ensures that the WPT can continue its critical work to protect parrots now and into the future.

How it works
  • You can leave a future gift to WPT by including a bequest provision in your will or revocable trust.
  • The World Parrot Trust receives the gift, and applies it according to your wishes.

Making a planned gift such as this is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for the WPT’s mission of protecting parrots and nature while accommodating your own personal, financial, estate-planning, and philanthropic goals. With smart planning, you may actually increase the size of your estate and/or reduce the tax burden on your heirs. Just as importantly, you will know that you have made a meaningful contribution to WPT.

What are the benefits?
  • During your lifetime your assets remain in your control.
  • If your circumstances change, you can change your bequest.
  • Your bequest can be directed to a specific purpose (be sure to check with WPT to make sure your gift can be used as intended).
  • No upper limit exists on the estate tax deductions that can be taken for charitable bequests.
  • Your gift will benefit WPT in the future as you intend.

Bequests and other planned gifts play a crucial role in WPT's continued ability to save endangered species by supporting innovative and effective conservation programs.

Please, remember to tell us!

Have you already made a bequest to help save parrots or are thinking about doing so soon? If so, please contact our Development Team and let us know your plans so we can thank you for your kind and generous gift.
