Megan Hill

Social Media Coordinator

Megan has a background in design and after gaining her Bachelor of Arts she became a fashion designer in the Northwest of England. She loves animals, bird watching, wildlife photography, and in the past volunteered at local rescue centres. Megan wanted to use her creative skills to follow her true passion and decided to start a new journey where nature and wildlife were her main focus, in 2017, Megan moved to Costa Rica to pursue her dream. There she fell in love with the colourful and cheeky Scarlet Macaws; this newly found enthusiasm for parrots and previous design experience led Megan to combine her passions and begin advocating for wildlife.

She spent five years working in Costa Rica & Bonaire with WPT partners as a communication and fundraising coordinator. Megan jumps at any opportunity to learn about parrot conservation and will regularly be caught getting hands-on with programs such as captive breeding, community outreach and wild monitoring.

Since Spring 2021, Megan has been utilizing her experience in her newest role as WPT's Social Media Coordinator. She is responsible for managing WPT's social media presence in multiple communities by directly engaging with supporters and publishing exciting new information about parrot care and welfare.
