Evet Loewen

Evet Loewen, J.D.


Evet Loewen is an attorney who practised municipal law for 30 years with the City of San Jose, California. Her experience there included a wide range of legal issues, including environmental law.  In 2005 Evet became a lifetime member of the World Parrot Trust, and in 2011 she became a volunteer legal advisor for the Trust, a postion she held until 2021. 

She currently lives in Athens, Georgia and enjoys working on a range of issues for the Trust whenever requested or invited to do so.  Her background in conservation includes the founding of an education project in San Jose for Peregrine falcons at City Hall, and ongoing contacts with University of Georgia students who want to learn about psittacines. 

In recent years her involvement in World Parrot Trust conservation work has expanded to include support of the release of parrots to the wild, focussed on projects in Brazil, Bolivia, Bonaire and Costa Rica.
