Alison Hales

Alison Hales - Chairperson

Alison Hales grew up with Paradise Park, the tropical bird garden started in 1973 by her parents, which later became the home of the World Parrot Trust. After taking a degree in fine art and a one-year business course,  Alison was named a trustee of the World Parrot Trust in 2001, and became chairman in 2006.

Cristiana Senni

Cristiana Senni

Cristiana Senni was born and grew up in Rome, Italy where she graduated from Art school. She then spent 8 years in New York, after which she moved back to reside in Italy. Cristiana always loved animals, and started keeping parrots about 15 years ago. She now shares her life with four male Amazons, and a female Grey parrot.

David Woolcock

David Woolcock

David has been concerned about wildlife since he was a child. This led him as an adult to help found the World Parrot Trust in 1989. As curator of Paradise Park, David has been responsible for the care and well being of the animals at the park and had been the Studbook keeper for many species including the Scarlet Macaw.

Nick Reynolds

Nick Reynolds

Nick was nine when his parents started Bird Paradise in 1973. (It later was re-named to Paradise Park, as it is known today.) From the beginning he helped with anything that needed to be done -- a lot of fun for a child! In recent years, Nick has been taking over the reins at Paradise Park, along with his sister Alison, and has become a WPT trustee.

Ruud Vonk

Ruud Vonk

For over 30 years Ruud Vonk has been a breeder of Amazon parrots in Benelux. In 1990, his passion for parrots led him to become a member and Chairman of the WPT-Benelux. He began actively promoting the World Parrot Trust in Holland and Belgium by organizing an annual symposium, which included lectures by leading experts on parrot-related topics such as health, care, nutrition, breeding, field research and conservation.

Steve Martin

Steve Martin

Steve Martin has lived with parrots from the time he was five years old. By the time he was 16 his bird interest expanded to falconry and he has been a Master Falconer ever since. He began his professional animal training career when he set up the first of its kind, free-flight bird show at the San Diego Wild Animal Park in 1976. Since then he has produced educational animal programs, or consulted at, over 50 zoological facilities around the world.
