Jose Antonio Diaz Luque

José Antonio Díaz Luque is a parrot researcher who has worked in conservation projects with macaws and Amazons in Bolivia, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Bonaire, being involved in surveys, nest protection activities, and captive birds releases, among other activities. Since 2008 he has been working in Bolivia with the Critically Endangered Blue-throated Macaw (Ara glaucogularis), and is now the project manager of the Project. He has a technical degree in Natural Resources Management, and he is studying Environmental Sciences for his PhD with the Blue-throated Macaw with the Doñana Biological Station, Sevilla.

José‘s personal objectives are to dedicate his life to saving endangered parrots, among other birds. He feels birds conservation is a way to enjoy life.
