Peter Cowen

Peter Cowen currently lives in Liverpool, England. For as long as he can remember Peter has always had an interest in nature and the environment. However, this took the form of Physical Geography, for which he gained an undergraduate degree.

It was not until he spent time working in 2006 on the Tambopata Macaw Project, Peru, that his interest in conservation surfaced. Following on from his degree, he then went on to study for a Master of Science in Conservation Biology at Manchester Metropolitan University. Due to his love for parrots and conservation, during 2008 he again spent time working for the Macaw Project. While in the jungle he collected data for his dissertation on the foraging ecology of parrots in secondary rainforest.
He is now about to take over the reins of the Macaw Project while also embarking on his own PhD. He is looking forward to the opportunity of researching further the foraging ecology of parrots and the effects of both human and environmental changes.

Peter is grateful of this chance in showing the journey of undertaking his research project, and hopefully will encounter some adventures along the way! He looks forward to any questions or comments that you may have.
